The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Week 7
Welcome to Week 7 of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly…Hope everyone had a fun Halloween weekend!
For any newcomers– Every week we feature the good, the bad, and the ugly of real estate photography. Our ‘Wall of Shame’ features the bad (…and oh yes, the very ugly…) photos that some agents are using for their listings. On the opposite end of the spectrum, our ‘Wall of Fame’ features some of the most stunning photography agents are using to market their listings.
WALL OF SHAME

Worst – living room with door open
Best – Chicago condo
How do you find these photos?
Worst – Hard to Pick! They are all uniquely horrible. I am going to vote for the bottom (yellow lab) because it shows nothing of the house and very little of the yard.
Best – Also hard to pick! Middle (Wisconsin Living Room)
Are you buying the street in the first picture? That’s my pick for worst photo.
Also, I want that Chicago condo!!!
Thanks for voting!
We find the photos by browsing different real estate sites in various regions throughout the country…unfortunately, they are much, much too easy to find! Within 10-15 minutes we usually have an entire folder full of choices. Scary!!
Great post! OK, UHG! The photos at the top are shameful. This home at $490,000 is probably someone’s largest investment, and the message doesn’t convey here. I am not enticed :(. The person shooting should consider a 101 camera class to better think about their merchandising motives for selling or hire a professional, and a stager to boot! Sad to see that the home wasn’t prepared with thought…..not a professional scenario. Bummer!
Worse – the photo with the dog. Gee do you think maybe you should take a picture of the actual item that is for sale???
Best – The Chicago Condo because I love how they got the Chicago skyline in the photo through the windows without a lot of glare or reflections.
